The kids are getting older, and mum and dad start showing the strains of a hard life on their face. As a young child, I was not aware of what the family was going through, being the youngst child. Going to school was my problem - it got in the way of my fun time, but it did have one good thing. Playtime. Football in the winter and cricket in the summer.
I would get up around 5.30-6 am, when my dad left for the bush in his work of cutting firewood, have breakfast and head of on my one and a half kilometre walk to school...
